Worth knowing

I have always loved puzzling people out. Even as a teenager, I found joy in scouring over their predicaments, big or small, trying to find the bigger picture, the deeper reason, or the better solution. I don’t always get it right of course, but the intention is always there. As a sensitive child, I loved observing people, and was uniquely lucky in having parents that accepted me just the way I am. A privilege not a lot of people have growing up, and something I am determined to pass on.

I don’t believe there is a definite answer to who we are. We’d love to have a clear path from the beginning -unknowing- to the end -wise-, and the in-between being the quest of figuring ourselves out, and then improving it, to become the best version of ourselves. I am not convinced it works that way, nor that this would be a healthy, joyful way to live. Humans are not that rigid, predictable or controllable. We are not one linear process that we complete from beginning to end.

Instead, we find more and more little pieces of ourselves over time, or we strip back layers that are no longer useful. Sometimes this occurs fast, sometimes slow, sometimes it is stagnant, and sometimes we seem to go in reverse. Some people do more of it and some people less. For example, I completely changed my life in twelve months after finding coaching because I just knew after years of self-doubting search this is where I come together. All my passions, interests, and skills uniquely configure to this job. On the other hand, finding my husband and having kids gave me years of little insights and puzzle pieces that formed a picture I enjoyed; and then re-weaved me to something else. Joyful still and different.

We often can’t know who we will be before or in the middle of a process. We simply unfold. But we can make sure we stay open minded and don’t sabotage or stall our transitions into a direction that doesn’t make us happy. But instead unfold into the potential that we carry and that makes us feel we are on point in life. That’s not always an easy line to see, particularly when we lack focus and clarity in the fog of change.

Our evolution can feel super easy. Those are the best. When things are joyful and flowing our adaptations and reflections come naturally. We barely notice how much we change.

Or a quick fix is exactly what we need. We can think our way through, talk to friends or mentors, read books, listen to podcasts, perhaps do a training, and acquire skills and life hacks that help.

At other times, it doesn’t feel easy or quick. Perhaps we know why, more likely we can’t see the why, we just know we want or need something in our life to change. We need a deeper move, some profound confrontation with life, something in our roots, in order to re-orientate, re-find, re-construct, or discover anew. A way to come to decisions from the inside out.

That’s where I come in. While you are puzzling things out, I love being by your side. People who are drawn to working with me, come because their first, second, or maybe even more attempts on finding the right puzzle pieces didn’t translate into something that sticks long term. What they want is someone on their side they trust to go beyond the surface. Someone loyal, who can see the dots of their life and connect them in a new way. Someone to see the light in them and where they could be. What they are looking for is a fierce, courageous and loyal companion for the journey. I am humorous, kind, warm, empathic and deeply loyal. But I am also very energetic, fearless, inquisitive, courageous, insistent, reflective, and nuanced.

Whether you need to figure out what matters to you, or what to do next, how to deal with something, or how to see a particular project through, I am not invested in a relentless self-improving maxim that I police with drill-sergeant style qualities. You don’t need to be checked, graded, or controlled. Neither am I a fluffy, cuddly, all love kind of lady that shuns the realms of reality in pursuit of higher things only. I will however be the person who sees you in new light when you can’t, fights a battle with and for you when called for, holds you accountable for your self-development and your visions, and will be a pain in your backside when needed. Together we will hold on to the puzzle pieces that you love and declutter those you don’t. You will find clarity in the depth of your insights, be focused on your choices, be motivated to pursue what matters, and most important feel free to do it your way.
